Join our supportive team as an Occupational Therapist on the Isle of Man! We are extremely excited to announce the development of a new Counselling and Therapy service in primary care, delivering a range of mental health interventions. Main duties of the job

To work as a member of the Primary Care Mental Health Service providing assessment, treatment, follow up and consultancy services for service users carrying out Occupational Therapy intervention in service users home, work, educational, leisure environments, Prison, GP surgery and Manx Care venues as appropriate. The post holder shall carry a caseload from the Primary Care Mental Health Service. The post holder will provide this service in line with the professional and organisational standards expected. To independently plan, prioritise and manage a caseload which will include complex cases (e.g. Dual Diagnosis) offering 1:1 sessions and therapeutic groups.

We are extremely excited to announce the development of a new Counselling and Therapy service in primary care, delivering a range of mental health interventions. Initially based in Port Erin or Douglas but delivering interventions in four main local hubs across the Island. 

Together we will design, deliver and evaluate the new service based in the heart of the community, giving you the opportunity to be part of something special and a sense of job satisfaction knowing you have made a positive impact to the people of the Isle of Man.

You will specialise and finesse your skills in specific treatments such as motivational interviewing and desensitisation/exposure programmes.

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Multidisciplinary screenings and assessments
  • Carrying out home visits
  • Delivering community sessions, group therapy and 1:1 appointments

If you’re enthusiastic, work well as part of a team and are interested in contributing towards service development your application will still be considered if you have not yet gained the sufficient experience required for this band 6 position, as the service would be happy to offer you a band 5 role.
