Job summary

Corbiere ward is a 20 bedded that provides nursing care for people living with dementia whosneeds cannot be met at home or in a community care setting.

The post holder will co-ordinate the management of the Ward in the absence of anotherRegistered Nurse taking responsibility, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintainedfollowing the CARE values. Assisting service users with all activities of daily living is a corecomponent of this role. The post holder will be responsible for assessing, planning,implementing, delivering and evaluating personalised care for a group of individuals, ensuringservice users and family are included in decision making, preserving privacy and dignity.Service users views will be respected and where possible they will be included in anydecisions around their care.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for their own personal development, ensuringmandatory/statutory training is completed in a timely manner. Adhering to all HSC policiesand procedures. The post holder is expected to act as a mentor, practice assessor/supervisorto junior staff and students.
