Job responsibilities

As the successful candidate your duties include but are not limited to:

Providing specialist high-quality person-centred primary care which always considers peoples safety, privacy and dignity using high quality clinical knowledge that is evidence based, with use of core healthcare guidelines.

Being responsible for the delivery of appropriate treatment, screening, and advice to patients within their professional competence and in accordance with (DPHC) clinical guidelines and protocols

Providing safe, evidence-based, efficient, and individualised patient care

Undertaking preventative health programmes such as travel and vaccination clinics, new patients screening, audiometry.

Undertaking technical nursing treatments and procedures for patients complex/specialist healthcare needs (e.g., wound care, sutures removal, Electrocardiograms (ECGs), Cytology, Audiometry, Ear Care)

Providing specialist advice and support to patients, their families and other healthcare professionals following assessment, diagnosis and through treatment

The Interview will consist of a Mix of direct questions and Clinical Situation based Scenarios.

The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence of the following:

Professional/clinical knowledge acquired through training to degree/diploma level.

Registered Nurse with live registration on Part 1 Subsection 1 (RN1/RN(A)) of the UK NMC register.

Applicants with NMC PIN in Progress (NMC PiP)

As part of the MOD standard pre-employment checks proof of NMC Registration and PIN number is required. Applicants who can demonstrate that they have successfully completed their Nursing Degree (Adult) Level 6 or Nursing Diploma (Adult) Level 5; but are awaiting their PIN number are eligible to apply for this post.

If successful applicant(s) will start as a pre-registered nurse AfC Band 3 until NMC Registration is confirmed and received. One receipt of PIN pay will be adjusted to AfC Band 5. Please note the salary will be pro-rata where part time hours are undertaken.

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

Qualifications

Essential

• Registered Nurse on sub-Part 1 (RN1/RN(A)) of the Nursing and Midwifery Council register.
• Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
• Must be in date for Basic Life Support (BLS) Anaphylaxis, Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Safeguarding Level 3 (Children and Adult) depending on population at risk) or willingness to undertake training.
• To be proficient in relevant Information Technology (IT) systems subject to appropriate training being provided.
• Willingness to undertake specific training to fulfil competency for role (e.g., audiometry, ear care, minor illness/injury, physical assessment, and history taking, travel health) and DPHC/MOD training as appropriate.
