Job responsibilities

Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

• Undertaking mandatory medical examinations and provide appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties.

• Providing general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours.

• Providing primary care emergency treatment to any patient who may require this within the Establishment.

• Appropriately supervising the management of communicable diseases, including monitoring and reporting through single Service chains.

• Represent the Medical Practice where necessary,including participation in unit health committees where appropriate.

All employees joining Ministry of Defence who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a 6-month probation period (unless otherwise advised) effective from the employment start date.

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

• Registration with the United Kingdom (UK) General Medical Council (GMC), and on the General Practitioner (GP) Register.
• Certificate of Prescribed Equivalent Experience or Statement of Acquired Rights (now known as CCT) from the Joint Committee in Post Graduate Training in General Practice (JCPGT(GP).
• Holding a current Licence to practice.

Experience

Essential

• Previous experience of working in a military environment is essential to this post.
