As the successful Band 5 Pharmacy Technician you will provide a safe and efficient dispensary service as part of a multi-disciplinary primary healthcare team within the Medical Centre. There may be a requirement to provide cover at other facilities, within Alemain combined practice (RAF Wittering and Garats Hay) as required by business needs.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work independently to manage the day to day running of the Medical Facility (MF) dispensary.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a consistently high quality pharmacy service and assists in the delivery of an effective medicines management service to entitled personnel within the multi- disciplinary medical centre and on behalf of the Senior Medical Officer (SMO).

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

  • Uphold the pharmacy profession at all times, in accordance with Medicines Ethics and Practice of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and the standards for pharmacy professionals of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). To attend practice meetings and represent dispensary as required.
  • Ensure the safe custody, storage and dispensing of all drugs, medicinal products and equipment in adherence with current DPHC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Co-ordinate the ordering or assembly of over labelled products and the supply of medicines issued by nurses under Patient Group Directions.
