Are you a Band 6 Practice Nurse looking for an exciting role, working alongside the military, which offers numerous benefits and opportunities? Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team delivering general medical services and elements of occupational health to military personnel.

The post holder must be able to work autonomously in the provision of nurse led clinics, to meet the needs of the population at risk (PAR), being able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate clinical care of patients within their level of competence.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrating and confirming good practice in record keeping and confidentiality in accordance with NMC standards and military guidlines.
  • Undertaking technical nursing treatments for patients with complex/specialist healthcare needs, e.g. wound care, smear tests.
  • Triage and patient treatment with minor illnesses/injuries.
  • Assisting with the care of patients with chronic illnesses e.g diabetes, asthma, chronic disease and hypertension ensuring continued maintenance of the Chronic Disease Register.
  • Participating with management and actively enhancing Healthcare Governanced (HG) issues and associated risk management, to monitor and improve the quality of service delivery.
