We are looking to recruit a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Occupational Health Clinician to join our encouraging and welcoming team based at Defence Medical Services (DMS) Whittington, Lichfield.

Our vibrant and fast paced organisation seeks to sustain and improve the operational efficiency of injured service personnel by supporting the delivery of a peripatetic occupational health service.

The vacant post is part time working 32 hours per week.

This role is peripatetic and cannot be delivered using public transport. Due to this a full UK driving licence is required for this position.

Main duties of the job

As a qualified occupational health clinician, the successful applicant will act as a subject matter expert in the delivery of occupationally focused primary healthcare to UK Reserve Forces personnel to the whole multidisciplinary team. The successful applicant will lead and support the planning, development, and delivery of services including occupational medicine assessments, health surveillance and force health protection measures. This includes liaising with single and joint service working groups and forums.

The post holder will provide leadership, line management and professional supervision to a national team of Band 6 nurses delivering occupationally focused primary healthcare to United Kingdom (UK) Reserve Forces personnel. They will be provide direction and support to the refinement of the nursing role with the Reserve Forces Practice as well as being key to governance and delivery of a unique occupationally focused healthcare service.

To aid the planning, development, and delivery of services including occupational medicine assessments, health surveillance and force health protection measures. This includes liaising with single and joint service working groups and forums.
