Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

• To assess complex patients with a range of diagnoses, identifying, developing and implementing appropriate specialist rehabilitation programmes based on clear clinical reasoning, based on highly specialist knowledge and experience of a range of procedures and conditions underpinned by sound theory and evidence-based practice.
• To ensure that a high standard of recording, filing and storage of patient and statistical information is maintained in accordance with The Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT), local policies and guidelines.
• To be responsible for prioritising, organising and planning own and teams clinical workload making short term adjustments to plans on a daily basis as required.
• To identify the resources required for effective service delivery within clinical area and assist Line Manager and Occupational Therapy Professional Lead Advisor in business planning and budgeting for this service.
• To attend service development meetings both internally and externally as required.

Qualifications

Essential

• Degree plus additional specialist training or experience to Masters level or equivalent.

Desirable

• Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by further training, short specialist courses, to masters equivalent level.
