Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:

• Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries.
• Using clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
• Formulating, developing and delivering a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence-based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
• Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment, good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential. Patients may have barriers to communication e.g. English as their second language.
• Advising Medical Officers with regard to specialist physiotherapy recommendations.
• Managing and prioritising own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively.
• Provision of clinical reports to supply clinical prognoses and comprehensive discharge planning for other medical professionals and, where appropriate the military Chain of Command (CoC).

There will be no reimbursement for any travel expenses for the interview.

Experience

Essential

• Must have relevant experience in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, sports injuries and orthopaedic conditions.
• Consolidated experience working as a post graduate musculoskeletal physiotherapist.

Qualifications

Essential

• Degree in Physiotherapy plus additional specialist training or experience to post graduate diploma level or equivalent.

Registration Details

Essential

• You are required to be registered with the relevant professional body, as detailed in the advert, prior to submitting your application.

Registrations and Memberships

Essential

• Registered as a physiotherapist with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP).
