Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

• Provide pro-active advice to all Medical Department staff on medicine management topics, technical information, medication regimes and suggested changes to prescribing.
• Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of all Dispensary Operating Protocols.
• Respond to requests for medicines information, drawing on resources of Medicines Information Manager and or Regional Pharmacist when necessary. Medicine information requests should be documented in accordance with United Kingdom Military (UKMi) standards
• To maintain the integrity and stock of the Dispensary and Pharmaceutical stores in accordance with current regulations and requirements.
• To dispense and issue prescriptions to patients in order to contribute to the Principle Medical Officers (PMOs) standards and objectives.

There will be no reimbursement for any travel expenses for the interview.

Qualifications

Essential

• BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or Equivalent NVQ Level III Pharmacy Services.

Desirable

• Accredited Checking Technician
• Medicines Management Qualification including Drug history taking / medicines reconciliation.
• CPPE Primary Care Pathway or Equivalent.

Experience

Essential

• Practical experience of being able to operate in a clinical post.

Desirable

• Experience working as a Pharmacy Technician in Defence.
