Job summary

We are looking for 2 dedicated, adaptable and encouraging GP's to join our supportive team in the Medical Centre, based at Brunei Garrison, in Seria, Brunei.

There are 2 full time positions available each consisting of 37 hours per week. The posting will be for 3 years initially with the potential option to extend up to 5 years (subject to approval and policy).

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be providing primary and occupational Healthcare in line with General Medical Council (GMC) Standards to ensure that the organisational and Senior Medical Officer's objectives are achieved to optimise patient care.

Whilst you will be a permanent member of the MOD, you will be subject to the normal overseas posting lengths and you will have an obligation to return to a MOD position in the UK after your overseas posting. This is not a Specially Recruited to Brunei position. At the end of a tour no guarantees can be given that you will return to your previous or preferred location in the UK. This may mean the mobility obligation for mobile grades may be enacted where there is no suitable post at an individuals preferred location.

Our chosen candidates and their dependents will be expected to have a medical and be deemed to be medically supportable in Seria, Brunei.

Job responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours.
  • Maximising the levels of health, wellbeing, and employability of Service personnel to ensure the needs of the single Services are met.
  • Providing primary care emergency treatment to any patient who may require this within the Establishment.
  • Undertaking mandatory medical examinations and provide appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties.
  • Providing appropriate preventative medical advice to both individuals and Chain of Command.
