Main duties of the job

DMRC Stanford Hall is a part of Strategic Command. The Unit provides a rehabilitation service for the Defence Medical Services (DMS).

Within DMRC rehabilitation teams include Complex Trauma, Neurological Services, Force Generation (Spines and Upper Quadrant, Specialist Rehab, Lower Limbs) and Pain Management Service. Patients seen at DMRC have a variety of conditions and are rehabilitated by a consultant led interdisciplinary team (IDT).

The Band 5 Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering and co-coordinating safe nursing care to patients with complex needs.

Duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Working unsupervised on the Ward as per the rotational shift pattern as and when required.
  • Having continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs and providing a range of clinical and management services.
  • Acting as shift leader when required.
  • Assisting in the training and clinical supervision of new or junior members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Being involved in communications with outside agencies and disciplines.
  • Working within the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Conduct and adhering to all NMC standards and Ministry of Defence (MOD) policies and guidelines including Caldicott guidelines.
