Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Civilian Medical Practitioner (CMP) to join our primary health care team at Station Medical Centre. There may be a requirement to work at other locations within the Lincs Combined Practice (Waddington/Cranwell/Coningsby) as dictated by business needs.

Defence Primary Health Care (DPHC) provide a unique blend of traditional team based primary care and occupational health support to military personnel. DPHC also has a strong emphasis on education with numerous opportunities to train military medics, nurses, and Doctors.

This position is offered at 37 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be providing primary and occupational Healthcare in line with General Medical Council (GMC) Standards to ensure that the organisational and Principal/Senior Medical Officer's objectives are achieved to optimise patient care.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

  • Providing general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours.
  • Maximising the levels of health, wellbeing, and employability of Service personnel to ensure the needs of the single Services are met.
  • Undertaking mandatory medical examinations and provide appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties.
  • Appropriately supervising the management of communicable diseases, including monitoring and reporting through single Service chains.
  • Representing the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) on Medical Practice related issues where necessary, including participation in unit health committees where appropriate.
