Job responsibilities

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

Delivering care for the Defence service population, liaising with the Chain of Command (CoC), single services (sS) and other specialist Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) pillars.

Supporting the delivery of a peripatetic Occupational Health (OH) service which requires travel between base location and assigned units. The majority clinical activity is delivered face to face in the Service Person (SP)s workplace / military environment or a clinic setting, therefore often requiring travel.

Managing your own clinical caseload and proactively supporting the Service Person (SP) through their clinical pathway in accordance to best practice, current legislation and Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) policy.

Supporting the development of relevant policy and procedures in relation to clinical delivery aligned to National standards and guidelines.

Providing clinical advice and training on the clinical value of Occupational Health (OH) to other members of the multidisciplinary team, and external agencies / organisations as requested.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Degree or equivalent training as recognised by professional body (NMC/HCPC etc) in relevant area plus additional specialist qualification.

Registrations and Memberships

Essential

• An Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse with current registration with an appropriate governing and regulatory body (e.g. Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) or National Midwifery Council (NMC).

Immunisation Status

Essential

• Current certificate of Hepatitis B, Rubella, measles, and Varicella immunity.

Other Criteria

Essential

• A full and valid (United Kingdom (UK) / European Union (EU) driving licence)) as you will be asked to support other DPHC sites. The role is peripatetic and cannot be delivered using public transport.
