We are looking for a pro-active, experienced and detail orientated Band 8a Medication Safety Pharmacist to join our friendly team at DMS Headquarters, Whittington, Lichfield.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be ensuring the safe use of medicines across the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and act as the designated
medication safety officer in line with national directives, liaising internally and externally to improve
patient safety.
Please note that while this role is based from our HQ at Coltman House, travel to other MOD sites will be required.

The duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Leading on medication safety throughout the organisation and promote a positive culture around reporting medication errors and incidents.
- Providing highly complex medication safety related information, advice and education to all staff groups who handle medicines and patients.
- Ensuring appropriate audits are conducted across the organisation in relation to safe and effective use of medicines to ensure compliance with legislation and national medication safety initiatives, and that changes are implemented as a result.
- Working autonomously but build appropriate internal and external networks. Prioritise work appropriately, responding to urgent matters in a timely manner.
