Defence Primary Health Care (DPHC) aim to sustain and improve the training and operational effectiveness of injured Service personnel by provision of high-quality targeted rehabilitation, accelerating their return to optimal physical capacity, whilst influencing their psychological and social health.
This position offers 37.5 hours per week. This role is not available for part-time working.
Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be working within a high-quality team;
providing evidence-based exercise rehabilitation, including specialist work in
musculoskeletal, sports and training injuries to entitled populations by using
a multidisciplinary approach.
This includes providing a
positive caring environment in an environment where patients expect a
high-quality professional service and fully supporting the line
manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional
rehabilitation service. This will include training, peer review and support to
other staff working within the Unit.

Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Performing appropriate clinical assessments and to design and implement safe and progressive exercise treatment schedules for all patients after the Medical Officer (MO)/Physiotherapist/Clinical Team Manager (DMRC only) has made a diagnosis.
- Ensuring that high standards of confidentiality, recording, filing and storage of patient notes and statistical information are achieved and maintained iaw local policy.
- Attending specialist/review clinics, providing an update of each patient to the clinical lead for the patient/group and the provision of progress and other clinical reports, as directed.
- Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for treatment, good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential.
- Facilitating effective communication and co-operation with all other departmental/Unit and external medical personnel from other agencies/units.
