Main duties of the job
Specialist Neurological
rehabilitation is delivered by a consultant-led interdisciplinary team, with a
strong vocational component.
The Neuro
Services Manager (NSM) manages the Neurological (Neuro) rehabilitation team and
has day to day clinical management of the neuropsychology team (who are line
managed by the Psychological Wellbeing Team Manager). This includes the line
management of the staff, the coordination of the patient care pathway and
maintaining the DMS and the DMRC Clinical Governance standards.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Line management of the Neurological rehabilitation team, which includes Occupational Therapists, Vocational OT's, Physios, Exercise Rehabilitation Instructors, Social Workers, Speech & Language Therapists, Psychologists and Psychology assistants working within Neurological rehabilitation.
- Communicating with other service providers, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and Local Authorities to ensure care pathways are robust and support the patients in their transition from the military to the civilian environment.
- Undertaking workforce planning and resource allocation/skill mix, to deliver the service
effectively. Ensure the Neuro rehabilitation team has the skills and
appropriate training to deliver an effective service to patients and to develop
skills through experience and additional training.
Personal Attributes:
The post holder must be able to multitask and maintain concentration where the workload may be complex and multifaceted. The candidate must demonstrate empathy and reassurance and should be confident to handle situations involving those patients who experience communication difficulties, verbal aggression and/or behaviour that is challenging.
