Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work with the SMO for the planning and delivery of physiotherapy, including the care of musculoskeletal injuries. They are to lead in the development of service delivery of rehabilitation (Rehab) within the PCRF and advice on physiotherapy within the PCRF.

Job responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • To be an autonomous practitioner and an expert clinician in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with musculoskeletal injury who are referred by GPs.
  • Developing and maintaining skills required to work at a Clinical Specialist level within physiotherapy as acknowledged by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.
  • Being professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of clinical work including the management of patients.
  • Undertaking expert comprehensive clinical assessments of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations/multiple pathologies.
  • Providing comprehensive progress and discharge reports to colleagues and referring GPs as required by PCRF guidelines.
