Main duties of the job
As the successful candidate you will be based at Thorney
Island, part of the Portsmouth Combined Medical Practice and you may be
required to work in other sites within the practice in the area.You will
be ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional
physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel;working alongside
the Regional Rehabilitation Officer (RRO) Portsmouth, PCRF and Regional
Rehabilitation Unit (RRU) physiotherapists, remedial instructors and referring
to General Practitioners (GPs).
This will include undertaking highly skilled and
specialist work in the Musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury area whilst
providing a positive caring environment, in which patients can expect a
high-quality professional service.

Duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Performing highly skilled physio therapeutic assessment of patients
referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare
Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic
physical conditions and sports injuries.
- Undertaking expert comprehensive
clinical assessments of patients.
- Formulating, developing and delivering a specialised individualised
treatment programme based upon evidence-based practice, manual
assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
- Establishing realistic prognoses and recommend best course of intervention, developing
comprehensive discharge plans, including recommending further investigations or
referral.
