We are looking to recruit a Band 7 Senior Practice Nurse who actively demonstrates effective decision making and projects personality and character to motivate, guide and support members of the multi-disciplinary team to achieve desired end results.

Main duties of the job

The primary function of the Band 7 Senior Practice Nurse within DPHC is to ensure the safe and effective delivery of nursing care. To provide effective clinical care through history taking, examination, diagnosing and prescribing to patients. Band 7 Senior Practice Nurse is responsible for all nursing services within the facilities.

Our facilities are currently networked and you will manage all nursing staff in collaboration with serving Military nurses and work closely with practice managers and General Practitioners to ensure that nurses are providing evidence based practice and ensure preventative measures to chronic disease are identified and that active health promotion is delivered.

You will mentor junior nurses, medics and Healthcare Assistants within the network from all disciplines and assist with setting objectives and achieving good health outcomes to support the delivery of care to ensure maximum deployability across the region.

You provide visible leadership of the nursing team and ensure that there is a vision and direction for the team to work towards achieving.

  • Monitoring and review standards of care within their facilities and identify any training needs or gaps in service and develop and implement training to meet the population needs.
  • Adhering to military, local and national safeguarding procedures and ensure that any risks are acted upon and reported promptly.
