We are searching for a professional, motivated Band 5 Dental Hygienists to join our supportive and friendly team at Dental Centre Warminster in Wiltshire. Does this sound like the role for you? This role offers 22 hours per week and the salary will be pro-rata where part-time hours are undertaken.

Main duties of the job

The successful postholder will primarily provide dental treatment, oral hygiene instruction & education, administration, plus working towards improving and maintaining the dental health and operational fitness of entitled personnel. While also ensuring the implementation of aims and objectives in accordance with Ministry of Defence (MoD) and Dental policies and procedures.

Job responsibilities

Additional essential criteria required for Civilian Dental Hygienists, including skills, qualifications, memberships, or licences, as detailed in the advert, include but not limited to:

Ensure their surgery is prepared appropriately for the days patients in accordance with current regulations.
Carry out and record daily maintenance, servicing and pre-use checks of dental equipment reporting defects in accordance with current equipment care policies.
Accurately recorded treatment on each patients electronic health record on Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP).
Reporting any appointment delays or Failure to Attend (FTAs) to the Practice Manager, receptionist and/or patient as appropriate.

There is no requirement to deploy as this is met by our uniformed personnel, but you will form the continuity of care required by our patients when based at home.

Due to COVID 19, there is now a requirement for dental clinical staff to be fit tested for a FFP3 mask, which has to be worn when managing a patient who is undergoing an aerosol generating procedure (AGP) the successful candidate will be fit tested prior to commencing employment.

The successful applicant will have contact with patients and service users. In-line with the NHS England approach, MOD is in the process of making full vaccination a condition of deployment for its healthcare workers employed across the UK. In order to comply with our duty of care, we require our staff to have the COVID vaccine and we will ask for proof of vaccination status during the recruitment process.
