Main duties of the job
As the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for the provision of specialist professional advice and leadership on prescribing and pharmacy issues to Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) Region whilst ensuring compliance with Medicine Legislation and congruence with the governance framework.
As the successful candidate you will also be responsible for, in liaison with the Headquarters (HQ) DPHC Pharmacist, the provision of support to and co-ordination of Medical Centres within the DPHC Region to ensure the delivery, within a medicines management framework, of a legal, safe, cost-effective and efficient high quality pharmaceutical service.

Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Work closely with DPHC HQ Pharmacist and other Regional Pharmacists in all matters relating to Medicine Management and Pharmaceutical care using information gathered from DPHC Region; contribute to the development of DPHC Medicine Management strategy, policy and processes and the resolution of DPHC Medicine Management issues.
- Monitor and co-ordinate the adoption of the DPHC Medicine Management policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) by Medical Centres within DPHC Region.
- Responsible for the establishment of Medicines Management Committees within the region or equivalent to ensure that the medicines management and pharmaceutical issues are taken forward across Region and DPHC.
- Be responsible for the Regional management and monitoring of Service Level Agreements between contracted providers and Medical Centres to ensure the delivery of a safe consistent high quality cost effective service and act as mediator in the case of any disputes or grievances.
