The vacant post is a part-time position of 21.5 hours per week working 8 hours on both Wednesday and Thursday and 5.5 hours on Friday. There may be some flexibility to this.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be providing clinical and administrative support for the provision of dental care in DPHC dental centres (DC), to enhance force generation and operational capability and minimise dental morbidity on operations.

Job responsibilities

Main details of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining the standard and cleanliness of the surgery and accommodation for which they are responsible, reporting any deficiencies in accordance with local protocols.
  • Carrying out dental work under the direction of a registered dentist who has examined the patient and indicated in writing the course of treatment to be provided.
  • Cleaning and sterilising all equipment.
  • Recording treatment on each patients electronic health record on Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP).
  • Using DMICP and other IT systems ensuring patient documentation is available to the clinician during treatment.
  • Maintaining, sorting and disposing of records on completion of treatment.
