We are currently recruiting two Pharmacy Technician posts. The successful candidates will be based at the two listed sites, HMS Nelson and HMS Collingwood. However, they will work as part of a
multidisciplinary primary healthcare team within a Group Practice delivering
general medical services and elements of occupational health to military
personnel and trainees; the Group Practice is formed of six sites and there is
an expectation the Pharm Techs may be required to work across these sites.
The positions offers 37.5 hours per week. The salary will be pro rata where the part time hours are undertaken and applications for part time or job share to cover these hours are welcome.

Main duties of the job
The two successful candidates will be working in a fast pace, demanding workload, and high risk environment. The Post Holders will work collaboratively with Clinical Staff and the
practice manager to ensure the implementation of the Medical Facility aims and
objectives in accordance with Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Defence Primary
Healthcare (DPHC) policies and procedures. They will be expected to be proactive in
identifying areas that could be changed and initiating necessary improvements.

- Providing a pharmacy dispensing service for
the medical facility and across Portsmouth
Combined Medical Practices (PMX) to entitled
personnel.
- Dispensing all medicines iaw current
regulations and prescribed by an authorised
prescriber.
- Being the Drug Safety Notice Lead, to inform
and publish all notices to patients and personnel.
- Holding copies of specimen signatures of all
authorised prescribers.
- Ordering, receipting, accounting and disposing for all
medicines and dispensary items through use of the
Contract Purchasing & Finance (CP&F) system.

Selection Process Details
The sift will be
completed within 5 working days of the vacancy closing date. Interviews will be
held on a date to be confirmed.
There will be no reimbursement for any travel
