Job responsibilities

Of your contracted 37 hours, 2 hours per week may be attributed to non-clinical activities including practice meetings, training, and personal administration.

The remainder of the contracted hours are to be utilised to provide clinical outputs and work should be focused towards improving and maintaining the dental health and operational fitness of personnel. Clinical outputs will be supervised by your Line Manager and prior approval is required before instigating deviation from the utilisation of these hours.

Qualifications

Essential

• Applicants must be fully registered with the General Dental Council without conditions.
• And either:
• Have undertaken Foundation Dentist Training (or have qualified before foundation training became compulsory in the National Health Service). Or
• Have evidence of adequate current clinical experience (either in the United Kingdom or abroad) to be able to practice independently.

Desirable

• A background in military dentistry provision and primary dental care.
• A valid United Kingdom driving license, this is to enable traveling to and working from other local regional dental centres if requested.
• Evidence of currency with General Dental Council Continuous Professional Development requirements.
• Being prepared to contribute to the development of staff skills and knowledge.
• Participate fully in the Civilian Dental Practitioners performance management and the Clinical Quality Assurance & Appraisal processes.
• Be ready to cover On-Call out of hours duties as part of a regional team.
