Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor (ERI), to join the team within Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) located at Albermare Barracks Medical Centre. The successful candidate will be organised, flexible, able to prioritise work commitments and with the ability to communicate at all levels.

The ERI will be required to provide a high standard of exercise-based rehabilitation including highly specialist work in the musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury area, meeting Standards for Better Health by using a multidisciplinary approach.

This is a part-time vacancy offering 30 hours a week.

Main duties of the job

Duties of this post include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing appropriate clinical assessments and to design and implement safe and progressive exercise treatment schedules for all patients after the Medical Officer (MO) /Physiotherapist has made a diagnosis.
  • Providing clinical reports to assist in the comprehensive discharge planning for both referring source and ongoing patient care under other health professionals.
  • Using evidence-based practice, audit, and outcome measures and published research to inform, measure and evaluate personal work and current practice.
