We are seeking to recruit a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Band 6 Primary Care Nurse to join our vibrant and fast paced organisation here at the Sir John Moore Barracks in Hampshire.
The postholder will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team, leading the delivery of primary healthcare nursing including elements of occupational health. This is a Full Time position working 37.5 hours a week.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work unsupervised, and is responsible for the delivery of appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care needs, medical screening and advice to patients within their professional competence.
The Primary Care Nurse will work within the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of professional conduct and adhere to all NMC standards and Ministry of Defence (MOD) policies and guidelines.

Job responsibilities
Assessing the needs of patients against a recognised model of care, implement and evaluate care ensuring patients receive care according to practice guidelines and delegate care accordingly; this includes prioritising treatment and care.
Leading and delivering health promotion clinics i.e. smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol misuse, sexual health.
Delivering nurse-led clinics and chronic disease management within Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) Protocols and Guidelines.
Providing military medicals for recruits and soldiers and be aware of occupational health protocols for Military staff.
Maintaining accurate electronic and written records, maintaining confidentiality of information.

The sift will be completed within 5 working days of the vacancy closing date. Interviews will be held on a date to be confirmed.
There will be no reimbursement for any travel expenses for the interview.
