We are seeking to recruit a full time dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Band 6 Primary Care Nurse to join our friendly, vibrant and fast paced organisation here at Winchester Medical Group.

This position offers 37.5 hours per week and requests to work flexibly will be considered, in the case of a job share this will need to make up the full time hours taking into account the business needs.

Main duties of the job

Our successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team delivering general medical services and elements of occupational health to military personnel and entitled civilian personnel.

You will work unsupervised, and be responsible for the delivery of appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care needs, medical screening and providing advice to patients within your professional competence.

Job responsibilities

As the successful candidate your duties include but are not limited to:

Assess the needs of patients against a recognised model of care, implement and evaluate care ensuring patients receive care according to practice guidelines and delegate care accordingly; this includes prioritising treatment and care.

The delivery of minor injuries care, advice and treatment.

To advise patients, carers and families on the promotion of health and prevention of illness.

Lead and deliver health promotion clinics i.e. smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol misuse, sexual health

Deliver nurse-led clinics and chronic disease management within Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) Protocols and Guidelines.
