are looking for a professional and well organised Band 3 Civilian Dental Nurse
to join our welcoming team at Dental Centre Shrivenham, Defence Academy of the
UK, Swindon.
This position is a Permanent Full-Time position, offering 37.5 hours a week. Requests to work flexibly and/or part time will be considered, taking into account business needs.

Main duties of the job
The successful
candidate will be providing clinical and administrative support for the
provision of dental care in Defence Primary Healthcare dental centres, to
enhance force generation and operational capability and minimise dental
morbidity on operations.

Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Working independently in accordance with Joint Service Publication 950, Defence Primary Healthcare Standard Operating Procedures, Freedom to Speak Up documents and all other relevant policy and guidelines.
- Managing dental records (manual and electronic).
- Ensuring the surgery is prepared appropriately for the days patients in accordance with current regulations.
Carrying out and recording daily maintenance, servicing and pre-use checks of dental equipment, reporting defects in accordance with current equipment care policies.
Meeting the needs of the patients by monitoring, supporting, and reassuring everyone according to their specific needs, providing appropriate advice when required. This may include recognising and interpreting behaviours, especially those associated with anxious patients and dealing with them accordingly.
