We are seeking a Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist (Advanced) to join our team at DMRC Stanford Hall, Loughborough.
This is a permanent full time position, offering 37.5 hours weekly.

Main duties of the job
As the chosen candidate, you will be a highly experienced pharmacist who will act within their professional boundaries.
You will have responsibility
for leading and developing pharmacy services at Defence Medical Rehabilitation
Centre (DMRC). This
will include the provision of dispensing, ward-based, and clinical services to
in-patients / out-patients / military DMRC Staff and setting up and management of homecare delivery
of medicines.
Your responsibility will also involve the provision of expert
advice on pharmaceutical matters to specialist consultants, medical and nursing
staff; and the management and mentoring of pharmacy personnel and training of
healthcare personnel (both civilian and military) at DMRC in medicine
management as appropriate.

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
- Be accountable to Clinical Director (CD) and the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) in maintaining professional registration and working within the latest Standards and Code of Professional Conduct.
Provide subject matter expertise (SME) to the Medicines Management Committee and support the committee in formulating and implementing management plans. This will include highlighting pharmaceutical issues at speciality meetings and to the CD and OC Med Div as required.
Monitor the effectiveness of own clinical practice through quality assurance strategies such as the use of audit and peer review.
Provide and receive highly complex sensitive information. Communicate effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for treatment and good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential. Patients may have barriers to communication e.g., psychological, minor/severe brain injury, dysphasia, dysarthria, or English as a second language.
Actively lead on Clinical Governance issues and associated risk management, to monitor and improve quality of service delivery.
To be responsible for business planning. This involves budget setting and resource management, identifying resource needs and implications and the impact of financial resource on service delivery. Deliver a value for money service.
