Main duties of the job

Our chosen candidate will set out to ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This includes undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury area.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries.
  • Formulating, developing and delivering an individualised treatment programme based upon appropriate clinical reasoning using the most current evidence, clinical guidelines, and physical assessment findings.
  • Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment and a good understanding of their condition in order to maximise rehabilitation potential. Patients may have barriers to communication e.g. English as their second language.
  • Making specialist physiotherapy recommendations and advising the Unit Medical Officers on rehabilitation issues.
  • Having professional and legal accountability to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC), adhering to all directed standards and codes of practice.
  • Developing and maintaining your own personal, Service and Professional Standards at the highest attainable levels through continuing professional development activities and maintenance of a portfolio.

Additional Information:

  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (MCSP).
  • State Registered Physiotherapist (HCPC)
  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy.
