Main duties of the job

Our chosen candidate will set out to ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This includes undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury area.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries.
Formulating, developing and delivering an individualised treatment programme based upon appropriate clinical reasoning using the most current evidence, clinical guidelines, and physical assessment findings.
Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment and a good understanding of their condition in order to maximise rehabilitation potential. Patients may have barriers to communication e.g. English as their second language.
Making specialist physiotherapy recommendations and advising the Unit Medical Officers on rehabilitation issues.
Having professional and legal accountability to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC), adhering to all directed standards and codes of practice.
Developing and maintaining your own personal, Service and Professional Standards at the highest attainable levels through continuing professional development activities and maintenance of a portfolio.

Additional Information:

The sift will be completed within 5 working days of the vacancy closing date. Interviews will be held on a date to be confirmed.
