Job summary

Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic and adaptable Consultant in Occupational Health located at Regional Occupational Health (ROHT) Bulford Healthcare Facility (BHF) in Salisbury.

As the successful Consultant, you will provide specialist Occupational Medical (OM) advice and manage the delivery of Occupational Health (OH) care services within a Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) Regional Occupational Health Team (ROHT), to ensure a safe, effective and continuously improving OH service within its area of responsibility.

This role offers 40 hours per week and the salary will be pro-rata if part time hours are undertaken.

Please note this is a fixed term appointment expiring on 30/09/2023.

Main duties of the job

Some of the duties involve but are not limited to:

  • Providing the RCD/Comd DHRG and the Chain of Command with specialist OH advice as it may apply to the provision of OH services and the implications of OH practice on other job specifications and single service policies.
  • Advising the Regional stakeholders and the Chain of Command on matters relating to Occupational Health and providing support in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and contracts.
  • Undertake Medical Boards on Service personnel (SP) as determined by single Service (sS) and Joint Medical Employment Policy, fulfilling the role of President or Board Member as necessary and as laid down in MOD and sS and Joint Medical Employment Policy.
