Job summary

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Civilian Medical Practitioner who will be working within our Primary Health Care team, here at Blandford Forum in Dorset.

We are looking for one Full Time candidate (37 Hours Per week) and one Part Time candidate (22.5 Hours Per week).

Main duties of the job

The successful postholder will be responsible for providing primary and occupational healthcare in line with GMC Standards to ensure that our objectives to optimise patient care are met, supporting DPHC in delivering a safe and effective service.

Whilst the Post Holder may not have direct Line Manager Responsibilities, they will participate in the mentoring of junior personnel, helping to ensure that their training needs, as defined in the Practise Development Plan, are met and that any shortfalls are identified and addressed.

Job responsibilities

Primary duties will include but not be limited to:

Providing general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours.

Maximising the levels of health, well being and employability of Service personnel to ensure the needs of the single Services are met.

Undertaking mandatory medical examinations and provide appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties.

Appropriately supervising the management of communicable diseases, including monitoring and reporting through single Service chains.

Please refer to the attached Terms of Reference for a full list of duties.
