Here at Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) we have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor (ERI), to join our team located at the David Stone Medical Centre.

The principles of Military Medical Rehabilitation is a complex process demanding a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) approach. The process varies from the provision of physiotherapy and exercise therapy at Primary Care level to the more specialised intermediate clinical activity.

Main duties of the job

DPHC provides medical rehabilitation for patients with complex needs who may have sustained multiple injuries which includes neurological injury and complex trauma. The aim of our medical rehabilitation is to sustain and improve the training and operational effectiveness of injured Service personnel by provision of high-quality targeted rehabilitation, accelerating their return to optimal physical capacity, whilst influencing their psychological and social health.

Our successful candidate will be working to provide a high standard of exercise-based rehabilitation including highly specialist work in the musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury area, meeting Standards for Better Health by using a multidisciplinary approach.

The position offers 37.5 hours per week and requests to work flexibly will be considered, taking into account business needs.

The post is located at Brize Norton , however there is an expectation for the post holder to provide service delivery to Bicester as required.

  • Providing a positive caring environment, in which patients can expect a high-quality professional service.
  • Providing full support to the line manager in ensuring the provision of a comprehensive and professional rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This will include undertaking highly skilled and specialist work, peer review and support to Junior/other ERIs working within the Unit.
