Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join (SCW) South, Central and West CSU in a key IT Project management role within the South East Coast Portfolio, which forms part of SCW's Digital, Data and Technology IT department. Reporting directly to the Senior Programme Manager, the post holder, working closely with the other IT disciplines, will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of assigned projects within agreed timescales and budgets.

The post demands a wide range of skills and experience including a good understanding of IT technical terminology, a proven ability to manage multiple projects, and an excellent understanding of how IT can support the strategic direction of our customers.

Main duties of the job

You will be a highly motivated and organised Project Manager who engages well with others, and co-ordinate complex pieces of work to deliver change to our customers. The post holder will need to be a clear communicator, with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, as well as proven experience of project and programme delivery. You will require a Prince2 qualification.

In particular, the job involves:

  • Define and deliver projects of moderate scale / complexity, using defined industry standard methodologies and best practice
  • Scope and specify projects including preparation and drafting of business cases and PIDs and other management products
  • Demonstrate experience of co-ordinating technical projects in complex and challenging environment Plan and manage project resources, including virtual teams in a matrix managed environment
  • Monitor projects spend and manage the handover of benefits realisation
  • Stakeholder management

About us

The post holder will join a team of six within the Kent and Medway region, that forms part of a wider team across multiple regions. The post holder will report directly to the Senior Programme Manager.
