Job summary

This is an exciting, NHS band 8a opportunity, for a motivated individual with experience in implementing evidence based practice and improving services to join the South Central and West Commissioning Support Unit Clinical Effectiveness Team.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of NHS Commissioning, in particular clinical policies and service improvement.

The post requires skills in literature search, evidence gathering and critical appraisal, excellent organisational skills, and ability to work across professional groups with matrix working approach. You will be working within a challenging new NHS environment and will need to be creative and proactive in your approach.

Main duties of the job

This role will work within the Clinical Effectiveness team to ensure high quality clinical effectiveness input into services provided to SCW customers.

The role supports the delivery of work to ensure that both commissioned and provider services are founded on evidence based practices, national standards and guidance issued by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the Department of Health and NHS England and Improvement.

The role will also support the integration of clinical effectiveness and best practice into the internal operations of the SCW and contributing to consultancy work for external customers.

About us

This role supports the Clinical Effectiveness team work across the SCW footprint, with a view of managing and supporting the workplan for a nominated group of ICB customers, responding to new consultancy and project work.

Ability to travel with the SCW geography locations is therefore essential in principle, however, the office base location is negotiable and home working is an option.

The role is ideal for a skilled candidate with desire to work flexibly as a member of our bank staff.
