Job summary

The Geospatial Analyst is responsible for the development of maps and reports using GIS and associated software tools. They will undertake a range of spatial analysis and have the opportunity to develop new processes/tools to support our GIS service. They will also support the team through the management of our data and maintenance of our customer GIS web tools.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for Geospatial and primary care information analysis, presentation and interpretation of maps and data within the Geospatial Team. The post holder will be responsible for their own projects, supported by the team as required. The projects can be small ad-hoc requests, through to large scale projects across SCW multi-disciplinary teams.
  • To consult with customers, information analysts and developers in determining how GIS and primary care business intelligence requirements will be met in a coordinated manner, from understanding user requirements through to obtaining sign-off for completed work.
  • Undertaking investigative analysis in response to queries, providing assistance and advice to colleagues and managers within SCW CSU and customer organisations.
  • Maintenance and development of our customers Geospatial Web tools - The Geospatial service delivers class leading web projects to our customers. These projects require routine data refresh and analysis rebuilds. Furthermore, we would expect the post holder to look to either recommend development ideas or develop these themselves with support from the team.
