Job summary
NHS South, Central and West (SCW) are looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Manager to work as part of a dynamic team within the Digital, Data & Technology (DDaT) [formerly 'Informatics'] service, based in our Bristol office.
With excellent project management skills and experience in delivering complex technical and digital change, you will be responsible for managing several projects as well as leading others in the delivery of projects to our customers.
The primary aim of the Senior Project Manager is to ensure projects and assignments are planned and managed within the defined DDaT project framework and governance structure to achieve desired outcomes.
Interviews, which will include a presentation task, will be held during week commencing 23rd October 2023

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for successfully delivering projects and assignments to time, quality and cost. You will:
- Define and deliver projects of larger scale / complexity, using defined industry standard methodologies and best practice
- Scope and specify projects including preparation and drafting of business cases/PIDs/Statements of Work and other management products
- Plan and manage project resources, including virtual teams in a matrix environment
- Monitor project spend, risks, issues and realisation of benefits and report on these both internally and to customers
- Provide line management, leadership and support to team members, developing and providing effective performance management to team members to ensure a high standard of professionalism, efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of the services
About us
You will be working as part of a team of Project Managers delivering customer projects, reporting into the Digital Portfolio Manager. You will have line management and leadership responsibility for 2-3 direct reports delivering an array of digital projects.
Whilst there is availability for remote working, the post holder will have a main base in our central Bristol offices and will be required to travel to these and other SCW and customer sites within the South West region (Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Somerset) at times.
