Job summary
Contribute to the development and maintenance of data management solutions and being accountable for their delivery and operations. This apprentice will be a Band 5 working towards a Band 6 when qualified.
An individual who is able to contribute to the development and operational maintenance of a data management solution. This individual must be able to work independently and take the initiative with understanding the customer requirements and adapting existing solutions or proposing solutions under the guidance of the lead developers.
Main duties of the job
- Working within a multi-disciplined team to implement and maintain data management solutions for SCW and its customers.
- Implementation of solutions under the direction of the Data Warehouse Architect or more senior Data Management Services representative.
- Commit to working and engaging constructively with internal and external stakeholders.
About us
The purpose of the Senior Data Warehouse Apprentice role is to contribute to the delivery and maintenance of SCW information systems. This will primarily be around ETL based solutions and data warehouses.
The role will require working on the projects assigned to the team under the direction of the Data Warehouse Architect or relevant lead. It is expected that the Senior Data Warehouse Developer Apprentice will work as part of a team utilising development standards and working practices as defined by South, Central and West.

- Understand the basic functionality of any web/form-based application or tool using supplied documentation or through self-learning.
- Keep documentation up to date where amendments are made
- To be able to effectively gather requirements from customers and stakeholders.
- Enabling skills and knowledge transfer to other team members.
- Advise and influence decisions around ETL methodology and general data management processes.
- Adhere to coding standards and methodologies within the development teams.
- Communicate effectively with the project management team about progress.
- Provide and receive complex information. The ability to understand complex information and act upon the context.
