Job summary

This is a specialist role for the supervision of software assets and IT configurations. Coordination of the software asset lifecycle (including security, inventory, usage and legal compliance), aiming to protect and secure the software license portfolio, optimise the total cost of ownership and sustainability by reducing operating costs, minimising risk and contributing to improvement of investment decisions and capitalising on potential opportunities. We aim to ensure customer perception of SCWs Software Asset Management service is positive and customers are likely to act as an advocate of the Informatics service based on our performance.

Main duties of the job

To support the Service Asset Manager with the identification, classification and specification of all software Configuration Items (CIs) and their interfaces to processes. Required information relates to access, service relationships, versions, problem reporting and change control of CIs. The role holder is required to assist the Software Asset Manager with status accounting and auditing, in line with security throughout all stages of the software lifecycle. This role is critical to ensuring continuity of service, deployment and availability of SCW supported clinical and business administration systems.

About us

Software Licensing Specialist is responsible for nurturing customer relationships, and supporting SCW's IT Software Asset Management service, which is delivered across a large geography, to a user base of circa 1250 GP practices. The team comprises 3 WTE staff.

  • Knowledge of Financial Systems and approval mechanisms e.g. receipting of goods, processing of invoices and procurement; business planning processes
