Job summary

The NHS SCW Geospatial team are a leading Geospatial and mapping service across the NHS. We provide geospatial analytical and modelling support to NHS England, Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), and other health related organisations across the South of England, and nationally. We are a hugely respected and innovative geospatial team, winning the ESRI 2021 Customer Insight awards for our support to the Covid 19 vaccination programme.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to appoint an Associate Head of Geographic Services. This is a pivotal role within the service, supporting the Associate Director - Geospatial Services, to ensure that their work stream of geospatial and primary care commissioning programmes, are planned and managed effectively, and to take the lead in their successful delivery. As a senior leader we would also expect the post holder to pro-actively seek and acquire new business for Geospatial Services, presenting and pitching to new customers as required, including associated tender and proposal documentation. Moreover, they would also take a lead on large scale MDT projects for Geospatial Services, acting as the programme lead where required and acting as an advocate and analytical expert on behalf of SCW CSU.

About us

The Geospatial service handle all aspects of aspects of geospatial analysis across the NHS including recent and current Covid 19 projects. Moreover, our Geospatial service is split into core Geospatial consultancy and the build of standard and bespoke online mapping solutions. Our consultancy workload is a varied and interesting mix of geospatial analysis, development, reporting and ad-hoc investigative analysis, dealing with many aspects of healthcare; primary and secondary care as well as community-based services. We also provide expert advice and support to colleagues throughout our partner organisations, and liaise with many beyond.
