Job summary
The Senior Analytical Manager role is responsible for the management and development of insight and analysis projects to AGEM CSU customers at national, regional, and local level. The post-holder will be passionate about the contribution they can make to effective decision making and will provide the leadership to develop a high-performing team. The role will require collaboration with the other services to deliver a cohesive service across the Advanced Analytics Unit.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be dual in nature, working as the line manager to analysts within the team as well as being responsible for providing information requirement gathering, overall analysis and insight generation. The role requires experience in statistical/quantitative methods/analytics together with a knowledge of visualisation methods and techniques. In addition, the post-holder will require a wide-ranging experience of stakeholder management and analytic delivery for operational, performance and planning support.
We are particularly interested in bolstering the skills of our team with Urgent and Emergency Care experience, and the corresponding knowledge of ECDS, HES, and clinical coding systems such as SNOMED, ICD-10, OPCS-4.

- Significant experience of conducting complex analysis in a health setting
- Demonstrable experience of delivering results
- Experience of communicating the results of complex analysis to a range of stakeholders
- Experience of using specialist analytical and data management software (e.g. SQL, R, Stata, Python)
- Clear communicator with excellent report writing and analytical presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering technical concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences
- Excellent knowledge of health and care policy and the roles and responsibilities of organisations
- Able to lead team while managing own project portfolio
