Job summary
We are seeking enthusiastic apprentices to join our Business Intelligence function as we deliver services for the Commissioning Support Unit (CSU), and our customers.
The apprenticeship will include studying for the Level 3 Learning and Development qualification (details here) and successful candidates will need to be highly committed to study whilst working, as required, to complete the apprenticeship.
Please note that applicants that have already completed the Level 3 Learning and Development Practitioner qualification are not eligible to apply for this role.
This apprenticeship is ideally suited for those interested in joining the NHS or an interest in a learning and development profession. We are looking to develop the successful candidate, providing the training and support required to achieve your best.
This role is a fixed term graduate apprenticeship. Although the role is banded at a Band 3 level, Annex 21 of Agenda for Change applies. https://www.nhsemployers.org/publications/tchandbook#annex-21---25
This means your salary will be as follows;
Year 1 - 70% of the top of the pay band - £16,223.90
Year 2 - 75% of the top of the pay band - £17,382.75
Where this results in less than National Minimum Wage, you will be paid the National Minimum Wage for your age https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates
Main duties of the job
As an apprentice you will become an important part of Arden & GEMs Business Intelligence function.
You will support the learning and development function to contribute to, and influence, improved performance in the workplace at an individual, team and organisation level.
This role will initially be based within the Improving Elective Care Coordination Programme (IECCP). This is a training role that will support and deliver the roll out of this NHS England initiative across your chosen region.

Job responsibilities
As an Apprentice in Arden & GEM you will generally work in a hospital environment using both the Hospital Trust and the CSUs systems and equipment. Youll be required to do the following in line with our organisational procedures and under supervision
A typical day (with support and supervision) will include the following:
- commit to doing the work required for your apprenticeship. This includes: attending training and working with support to produce evidence of the skills and knowledge you require to complete your apprenticeship
- work collaboratively with a range of internal and external people including our customers: this may include supporting, and liaising with, some of our most vulnerable residents to provide them with services they need
- perform agreed roles in teams and projects, helping to ensure that work stays on track and targets are achieved on time and to agreed standard
- use a problem solving and flexible approach, escalate concerns or seek guidance and support when needed
- make effective decisions based on sound reasoning and deal with challenges in a mature way seeking advice of more experienced team members when appropriate
- understand, interpret and apply the policies and procedures to your work
- collect, organise, manage, analyse and use information to provide projects with insight
- document and report the results of work activities, making recommendations for how work can be kept on track or improved
- comply with the CSUs health and safety policy and procedures demonstrate awareness and understanding of equal opportunities.
