Job summary

Are you interested in IT and supporting end users in getting the most from a technical system? If so, we have an initially fixed term contract opportunity with NHS Arden & GEM's Systems Development & Application Services Team. You would be part of an established team who have more work than they can handle and are looking to you to help share the load.

You will be working to remotely support the user base on Microsoft 365 systems including: SharePoint Online; OneDrive; Teams; Bookings; as well as the Office suite of apps. You will work closely with the team's subject matter expert in each area to help refine your skills and abilities.

Main duties of the job

The Microsoft 365 facilitator role is, for the moment, a fixed term contract till end of March 2022 and could be done as a secondment. The remit is:

  • Supporting Microsoft 365 system implementations. Running remediation and defined migration processes.
  • Providing support and training to customers. Showing them how to use the tools.
  • Testing of solutions. Helping run and refine the user acceptance testing plans
  • Working directly with customers. You will help support them achieve their goals.
  • Engaging with the Organisation communities. Answering questions asked in Teams and Yammer.

The team is focused on delivering customer quality solutions on-time and in-budget. The environment you will be working in will be highly dynamic and you will be working with the team to balance competing priorities. You will also be supporting the developers and customers in delivering solutions.

The role will be based in Warwick or Derby (currently working from home due to pandemic), and you may need travel to Arden & GEM's other sites or customer locations. We will attempt to keep this to a minimum.

Communication and Relationship Skills

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people across the organisation and customers, to ensure effective service delivery is achieved.
  • Utilise a variety of tools and techniques to develop and support the delivery of organisational wide initiatives both receiving and providing complex information.
  • To provide, both verbal and written, reports to stakeholders (as required) on projects and tasks that they are leading on, and negotiate for a successful outcome.
  • Translate specialist technical information and present it to an audience of differing abilities. This will be from 1:1 to large group settings.

Knowledge Training and Experience

  • Use advanced MS product suite skills to enable issue resolution including Excel, Outlook, Word and OneDrive. Enabling them to remotely support non-technical end users

Analytical and Judgemental Skills

  • Actively seek out; define and resolve any roadblocks to effective knowledge sharing in the organisation.
  • Look to understand the underlying issue and work with stakeholders to remediate the problem. Escalating when appropriate to do so.

Planning and Organisational Skills

  • Plan and manage varied workload and assigned tasks. Have that ability to use own judgement and re prioritise when a situation changes keeping stakeholders and line manager informed.
  • Deliver and manage small scale projects and tasks to time, resource and fiscal remits.

  • Deliver, from initial discussion to final product, bespoke workflows and customised systems as directed by the Team Manager following industry best practice.
  • Effectively use a range of IT applications to create reports, project plans and documents.
  • Enable the business and its customers to understand and use the information at their disposal in the most effective manner and for positive effect.

Responsibilities for Research and Development

  • Support the team in the development of bespoke custom systems for customers
  • Run testing plans of new (and developed) systems to ensure that they are robust for use by the business.
