Senior Business Intelligence Analyst (Mental Health, Children and Younger Persons) Norwich (Band 7 Permanent)
Our local team forms part of a bigger Business Intelligence unit operating under the authority of Norfolk & Waveney CCG based in Norwich.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented senior business intelligence analyst to join our expanding team. The focus of this role will be primarily on the delivery of analytics; supporting Mental health services and all services involved with Children and Younger persons within the N&W system.
An individual who can demonstrate a desire to promote change and question current processes through creative use of data, backed up by the technical skills to enable this with a proven track record for delivery is an ideal match to join our team.
Main duties of the job
Duties include(but not limited to): -
- First point of call for information requests from CCG MH team and wider system
- Providing BI support to NSFT (Wellbeing and Block), CPFT (Eating Disorders) and multiple MIND contracts (meetings, associated actions, contract negotiations, etc)
- Benchmarking MH performance and activity with other STPs / Providers
- Leading data / DQ discussions and associated meetings with providers and the CCG / CSU
- Networking with BI colleagues across the system to create system-wide reports that add value and further improve our systems insights in these areas.
- Supporting BI and Performance Manager in CYP Reporting and ongoing transformation work.
- Supporting the development and roll out of Self-Service reporting via BI platforms principally via Power BI.

Based in Norwich and working across Norfolk & Waveney, the successful candidate will form a key part of a specialist BI team. Working with various Health and Social Care stakeholders they will build strong relationships and become part of future decision-making projects that have a real impact locally on NHS services.
The successful candidate should expect to work in a fast-paced environment working to key deadlines and delivering quality results through a well-managed team. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to develop skills (working closely with teams that operate at a Regional and National level) and make a genuine contribution to the local health system within a forward-thinking NHS organisation.
Currently due to the COVID 19 pandemic the team is working from home and as such it is expected that this post will also initially be working remotely.

To design and deliver services in a consistent and corporate manner aligned to the Arden & GEM CSU vision to design and deliver high quality, cost effective commissioning support valued by our customers.
The post holder will work within the Arden & GEM CSU N&W Spoke Team, who are Embedded in with Norfolk & Waveney CCG.
This role will primarily be focused on the delivery of analytics; supporting Mental health services and all services involved with Children and Younger persons within the N&W system.
Key responsibilities
- Develop excellent relationships and support effective communication between all relevant stakeholders both internal and external.
- Undertake data quality work, monitoring and investigating information variances, working with the hub team and providers to actively pursue discrepancies and identify changes in data collection requirements to ensure that consistently high quality and compliant data is available and supplied in an understandable and usable format for analysis.
- Maximise the information held within existing data sets, including complex data management and manipulation exploiting their potential in turning information into knowledge.
- Gather, analyse and interpret complex information, including both quantitative and qualitative, from a wide range of sources taking account of confidentiality and the limitations of the data used.
- To work with a broad spectrum of information from a wide range of sources presenting complex and sophisticated information in a meaningful way to increase organisational knowledge and enable evidence-based decisions.
- Ensure that contract, quality and performance analysis is carried out with constant awareness of customer needs, in order to give them the quickest answers to their questions and best value-for-money.
- Utilise modelling and forecasting techniques to predict future need and demand.
