Job summary

NECS Consultancy offers bespoke management consultancy expertise to a range of clients across the Health and Social Care sector. We currently have exciting opportunities to join our Graduate Consultant Training Programme in several regions.

As a Graduate Consultant, you'll play a key role in supporting the team to deliver high-quality consultancy services to NHS and social care customers, with the opportunity to learn and apply new skills along the way.

The team of over 130 colleagues offers consultancy services to address the most critical problems in Health & Social Care and help organisations to achieve their transformational goals. Our recent projects include the delivery of the NHS England mergers, tackling the elective recovery patient backlog, and leading a review of British Sign Language services across the UK. Our work is interesting, varied, and challenging.

You will be based in a regional team, and we expect a combination of working from home and travel to NECS offices and customer locations.

This role is part of the NECS100 Programme, NECS Talent Management Programme, and requires the undertaking of post-graduate development.

Main duties of the job

The two-year programme starts in September 2023 and has been designed to equip you with the necessary skills, experience, and qualifications to support a future career in NHS Project Management. Year 1 begins with an induction to help you understand the Health and Social Care sector and how NECS Consultancy approaches client work. Your responsibilities will gradually increase, but from day one youll play an active part in supporting the delivery of client projects. Year 2 will see you take on more accountability and stretch projects designed to expand your knowledge and skills in a position that continues to challenge, stimulate, and reward. This role will be responsible for:

  • Supporting client programmes throughout their lifecycles
  • Ensuring friendly, courteous, and effective communication with customers to ensure their needs are addressed in a professional manner
  • Delivering internal projects and initiatives contributing to our Consultancy strategy
  • Participating in formal training courses, and driving your own personal development plan

Our Application Process

The first step in our application process is to complete the application form. Please take time to read the person specification, then tell us how your skills and experience demonstrate that you meet our requirements. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an Assessment Centre (Stage 1), where you will take part in a range of activities designed to let you show your leadership capabilities, experience, and skillset. Applicants who perform well at the assessment centre will then be invited to a (Stage 2). Stage 1 and 2 will take place between 19th June and 14th July 2023.

Please note we are looking for candidates who will have graduated with a 2:2 or above by 1st September 2023.
