Due to the growth of our analytics and insight team within NECS we are looking for experienced and enthusiastic informatics professionals to join our team. The team of 25 staff offer a wide range of analytics services to an array of customers across North East North Cumbria (NENC), Yorkshire and Humber as well as nationally.

This Principal Information Analyst role is a pivotal role ensuring that customers are using insight, analytics and intelligence in making key decisions for the benefit of patient care. The role uses cutting edge technology and analytical approaches in its delivery. We are looking for individuals interested in continually developing their skillsets, particularly with increasing focus on data science to drive the service forward to be at the forefront of heath care informatics service delivery.

We offer hybrid working in this role meaning that the successful candidate can work from a mixture of locations including home, NECS offices and customer locations.

Main duties of the job

  • Leading the provision of a proactive information analysis and intelligence function to a diverse range of stakeholders, using extensive analytical and technical expertise, supported by a knowledge of NHS and public sector data, definitions and tools
  • Offering professional advice on the use of statistical methods and interpretation of results of data analysis, e.g. reports, charts, maps, pivot tables etc.
  • Leading the transformation of multiple complex data streams into timely analytics, intelligence and reporting that add values to the customers business functions, striving for maximum quality, efficiency and optimisation in the use of information and analytics.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest market leading analytical technologies including Power BI, R Studio, Python etc. to support the continual development of the analytics and insight service offer to its full range of current and potential customers.
