Job summary

Are you a self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible Administrative Assistant? Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to provide a comprehensive, effective, and efficient administrative service to the Durham Provider Management/Commissioning Delivery Teams?

We are looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant to join a small admin team of 2-3 staff. The role is diverse, and the priorities of the role can change quickly depending on developing situations so the ability to be both proactive and reactive is important.

This role is fixed, and is based at John Snow House, Durham. The postholder must demonstrate a flexible approach and be able to travel independently when required.

Please note that this post is on a JOB SHARE basis working 18.75 hours per week. The preferred hours for the successful applicant would be alternate Wednesdays and all day Thursday and Friday.

Main duties of the job

This role will be responsible for:

· Arranging and attending meetings to accurately record and minute proceedings/decisions.

· Diary management.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook.

· Assisting with project work as and when required.

· The role will involve being well organised and structured.

  • NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or experience of working as an administrative assistant to a senior manager.
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Desirable

  • RSA III typewriting (or equivalent)

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in an administrative role.
  • Experience in planning and organising meetings.
  • Experience in attending and recording minutes of internal and external meetings accurately.
  • Familiar with working in an office environment.
  • Experience in working with office systems.

  • Experience in working in a busy reception
