Cruddas Park Surgery is currently looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our friendly, forward looking practice.
The successful candidate will work between our main site, Cruddas Park Surgery and our branch site, Hillsview Surgery. If you feel you are suitable for this role, please dont hesitate to apply!
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a dynamic and supportive nursing team, delivering all aspects of care to patients. In addition, you will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education. In particular, you will be required to carry out health checks, long-term condition checks and provide appropriate support to carry out minor surgeries.
The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and experience using EMIS Web would be beneficial however, full training and support would be offered to the successful applicant.

Job description
Job responsibilities
Undertake health checks for patients with long term conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease. This will include health promotion/education and signposting to other services, such as to our social prescribing link workers.
Complete NHS Health checks
Carry out routine observations such as pulse, blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, smoking and alcohol status and record findings accurately using the computer templates provided.
Phlebotomy
Diabetic foot checks
Process and label specimens ready for transportation.
Administer flu vaccinations and vitamin B12 injections (by Patient Specific Direction).
Carry out ECG's.
Facilitate home blood pressure monitoring.
Ensure all consulting rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session.
Ensure fridges are stocked appropriately and temperatures are recorded daily.
Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharp bins replaced.
Supervising and ordering stock.
Support with minor surgery and coil/contraceptive implant sessions.
Other clinical tasks as required.
