We are seeking a Medical Secretary to join our team, providing support to our Primary Health Care Team. Working hours can be full time 37 hours per week, or part time for a minimum of 20 hours per week. This post is temporary for 9-12 months.
You must possess fast and accurate keyboard and IT skills, be able to work with minimum supervision and be committed to delivering the highest quality support to our Team. Any additional training required will be provided.
Main duties of the job
Type from dictation, audio, or manuscript to a consistently high standard
Carry out Secretarial tasks for the team
Ensure all correspondence is signed and promptly dispatched via by the appropriate method.
Prioritise the daily workload, action tasks and emails.
Ensure all forms are processed, coded within the clinical system daily and confirmation of receipt entered into the patient record.
Liaise with local providers regarding patient queries and matters of medical urgency.
Set up, update, and maintain referral audits, providing monthly and annual data when required. Manage the patient referral process and database.

2.Ensure that all correspondence is signed by clinicians and promptly dispatched by the appropriate method (posting, attaching electronically, e-referral (Choose & Book), or faxing).
3.Prioritise the daily workload generated from the PHCT.
4.Ensure all forms are processed, coded within SystmOne on a daily basis and where faxed, confirmation of receipt entered into the patient record.
5.To liaise with local providers regarding patient queries and matters of medical urgency either using your own initiative or at the request of other PHCT members.
